Safeguard’s Permits module is used by high profile, high risk clients to manage permit-to-work processes more efficiently online. Permit-to work systems demonstrate that risk is reduced to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) according to HSG250 guidance.
Features
Like all Safeguard modules, the permits module is tailored to your terminology and corporate branding, for maximum user uptake. Permit templates are also configured to fit your business requirements, so there is no need to change to fit the software. Permits can be issued to a location, division, or business area as required. Like all modules, access is carefully controlled on a user-by-user basis or by role. Permits can be issued in PDF format to be clearly displayed, or ‘read-only’ access given. Formalised ‘hand back’ processes are also included, and the facility to upload and attach supporting documentation as required.
The permit format can involve the capture of information about the activity, listing hazards, control measures, PPE, management approvals, whether the appropriate risk assessments are in place, and whether the contractor has the appropriate approvals. Questions to determine whether Hot Works, Confined Spaces, and Working at Height permits are required will trigger the capture of further information in many permit formats, and there is no practical limit to the number or type of permits. Each implementation of the module follows your process, whether you need to issue a paper copy, manually close a permit, and have a pre-determined time frame before automatically closing. Notifications can be issued by email or text message.
The Permits module is also fully integrated with Safeguard’s Contractor Management and Task Management modules, and includes a full suite of Management Reports.
