Largest group of independent schools in the UK to use Safeguard

The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) was established in 1872 with the main objective of advancing the education of young women. Currently, the GDST owns and operates 29 schools which are located throughout England and Wales, educating approximately 20,000 students each year with over 4,000 employees.

The GDST was looking for a system to support their existing risk management processes. The GDST will be using Safeguard’s Accident and Incident Management module to record, monitor and manage incidents and investigations. Using Safeguard will allow the GDST to have complete visibility on the level of compliance across all locations and enable data to be interrogated quickly and easily for more effective reporting on Health & Safety.

Health & Safety Manager, Clare Cunningham commented: “We anticipate that using Safeguard will enable individual schools and the Trust as a whole, to monitor and manage, more effectively any incidents that occur. The reporting tools will enable individual schools, and the Trust’s H&S Advisers to quickly and easily analyse the data to identify trends, so that the information can be used to support the GDST’s existing risk management processes, increase efficiencies, and ultimately reduce incident rates.”
